It's a Two Cup Morning!

This was one of my first Changito stamps a couple years ago! He needed some love so he (and me) had at least two cups of java to get our morning started today! And, we have matching slippers, only mine are pink! LOL

Brrrr....It's Cold Outside!

This cute lil' polar bear is a digital stamp from Paper Fashions, Etc. I created the card to play along with the Dolce Stamps and Cards Thursday Challenge. The challenge is to create a card with some shine! One of my new favorite embellishments is creating bottle caps, which definitely has some shine to it! I also used some metallic silver pearl strands to embellish the embellishment! After printing out and cutting a panel with the polar image I embossed the panel using the Sizzix EF from the Snowflake and Flourish set. The hat on the bear is part of the digital set. I sized it to lay on the bear before printing out. The scarf is also part of the set which after printing I paper pieced it to fit the bear. The Brrrr sentiment is also part of the set. :) The ribbon and cardbase are PTI which was in a cardkit from a recent secret sister cardkit swap (thanks Patti!).

Junque Journal #3

This is the last junque journal for the swap. It is black and white with splashes of gray and a few other colors inside. The cover junk on this one is a piece of denim I looped under the tissue tape flower. The other items on the cover including the flower are scraps from my scrap bin. The journals were fun to create by finding "junk" that would have been thrown out or overlooked in my scrap bin!

Junque Journal # 2

Got Junk? Got old denim jeans? Then you got junk! :)
This journal has the feel for blue jeans and grayish jeans! The flower on the cover was created using the SU Sizzix Circle #2 die and scraps from a cutup pair of jeans. It is layered on another blue jeans scrap. The cover patterned paper is from my stash; the tulle side tie is left over from another project. The inside pages have jeans pockets, paper scraps from stash, a Puffs tissue box cut up and a piece of it run through a paisley cuttlebug embossing folder, a window from a window envelope covers a scrap piece of patterned paper.

One more journal to create, but so far, this one is my favorite.

Junque Journal

The cover of a Junque Journal I created for yet another swap on SCS!! I didn't use lots of "junk" within the pages or on the journal cover; will leave that for the recipient to use as desired. The cover junk is the flower created using brown packing paper that was used in a recently received UPS order; the butterfly and flourish are from my scrap bin, the lace was leftover from another project. I decided to use the corner attachments to help protect the paper on the pointed corners. This is journal #1 of 3! Each journal will be different. Think Western and Black/White.

More PTI

A stocking stuffer and a Christmas card for the PTI swap I mentioned in a previous post. The stocking stuffer little box will hold 2 chocolate nuggets. After creating the box it was stamped using PTI Turning A New Leaf stamp from that set and embellished with a stem from the Larger Than Life die and the flower was created using the Beautiful Blooms II #1 die set.

The Christmas card was created using the PTI Through The Trees set and a sentiment from the Christmas Blessings set; the background was embossed using the Sizzix flourish from the Snowflake and Flourish EF set and the border punch is SU.

Whipper Snapper and Penny Black

Another day, another swap! I created these two cards for a swap on SCS hosted by barbaralynn, her 14th round as hostess for cards created using stamps from these two companies. The first card I created using Jingle-balls which is a Whipper Snapper stamp, and my first ever Whipper Snapper stamp! I colored the image using Copic markers. The Penny Black stamp is called Village Christmas; I colored directly to the stamp using memento markers before stamping onto kraft cardstock. Coloring directly onto an image using markers is a technique I've used many times before and was recently re-introduced to it when I attended a stamp workshop atjoansgardens.

Cards for PTI Christmas Swap

PTI is one of my all-time favorite stamp companies. So glad that I've joined in some of the PTI card swaps on SCS. I'm in four categories for this round, sympathy, regular, Christmas, and stocking stuffer. The top card is my sympathy card created with the PTI With Sympathy set and a cheerylynn butterfly die. The regular card is created using the PTI dressform die. The smaller patterned paper panel that the forms are adhered to was stamped using the PTI Newsprint set; the tag was stamped using a sentiment from tiny tags and then punched out using SU small tag punch. The lace framing the layered panel is American Crafts.

Framed Art and Walling Hanging

These two projects were created for a swap on Splitcoaststampers.

Supplies used for the framed art:

Bazzill textured cardstock

Heartfelt Creations Spellbinders Belle Rose leafy flourish Die (the die cut was sprayed with Goosebumps Clear Texture Spray)

PaperTreyInk die was used to create the flower (I really need to label my PTI dies! used the Hello, Friend die!); the flower was sprayed with Goosebumps and Perfect Pearls Mist

Butterfly is a Cheerylynn Die

Sentiment is from PTI Butterfly Dreams set

Doily is from a package of Wilton doilies

The Wall Hanging uses the same dies as listed above; the patterned paper is from a Making Memories 8x8 vintage paper pack, the sentiment is a Michaels dollar stamp, lace is from Hobby Lobby, lattice is cut from the EKSucess Lattice border punch, and stick pin was created by me! The hanger was created using ribbon from the Michaels dollar bin. The base of the wallhanging is a canvas board.

PTI Swap Fun

PTI stamps and dies are among my favorite! So, when a swap opens on SCS, I join! Here's my latest swap creations that will be mailed out soon to the swap hostess.

Top card was created using sentiment from PTI Butterfly Dreams set, the In Bloom Impression Plate, Butterfly die; and, the flower was created using the Delightful Doilies B die.

Middle card: Newsprint stamp for subtle background around stamped image, pumpkin is from the Spooky Sweets set, flourishy leaf is from Turning a New Leaf set. An impression plate was used on the stamped image panel. The fluted cardstock panel was inked using distress inks, a little spray of October Afternoon Sprinklers Paper Doily ink, an image from the PTI Year of Flowers Collection was stamped on the fluted cardstock but is very difficult to see (it did give the panel a little more dimension though!). The to set off the fluted panel, I gave it a generous spray of Perfect Pearls mist.

Card Candy: Flowers were created using the scalloped circle spellbinders die for the white flower, Friendly Flower die and flower fusion #1 die for the lavendar flower. The flowers are adhered to the Sending You die; leaves from Sending You die (part of the lavendar flower) were stamped with a leaf from the In Bloom set; Larger Than Life die embellishes the white flower.

A die cut category is also part of this swap (die cuts to swap not shown in this post!)

Class Projects Created for Joan's Gardens

Here are the two brayered card projects I "taught" on Saturday for Joan's workshop (www.atjoansgardens.com) Both cards use Tim Holtz's Urban Chic stamp set. First card was brayered using momento inks; second card was brayered using distress inks. Other product used for card 1 was the Tim Holtz tissue tape that I created into a flower; card 2 was sprayered with Ranger Perfect Pearls spray.

Distressed Paper

Great technique using distress inks, plain copy paper, water, some perfect pearls spray mist to create the shimmery background paper. This was created for this week's challenge found at www.atjoansgardens.com

I started with a 5x7 canvas board. The paper technique can be found as part of Joan's weekly challenge. Other elements I used are Spellbinders Fanciful Flight small butterfly, Spellbinders Bella Rose die which is part of the Heartfelt Creations Bella Rose collection. My flower was created from old dictionary papers, punched using a scallop punch, layered, a brad put into the center then the layers scrunched up around the brad to shape the flower. The flower was then highlighted with Victorian Velvet Distress Ink and sprayed with Perfect Pearls mist; the background paper was created using Victorian Velvet Distress ink, Spun Sugar Distress ink, and Stormy Sky Distress ink.

TPR Mini Album

I created this TPR mini album for a swap I'm in on SCS for unusally used items...items that we've had for quite a while with the intention of using but just never got around to it...until this swap! My unusual items I've been hoarding to create a project with are "tissue paper tubes" you know, those cardboard tubes the stuff you use in your bathroom...oh, okay, I used the technical term "tissue or TPR" the common word is toilet! Yes, this mini album was created using toilet paper tubes! I think TPR sounds so much better though!

Waiting Tilda for Joan's Challenge

I created this card for a monthly image challenge on SCS. Then, I read Joan's (atjoansgardens.com) challenge today and think this card fits it perfectly. The challenge is to create a card using blue, peach (the rose buds at the top of the patterned paper are a shade of peach), butterflies, and something frilly (my lacey flower was created using frilly lace!).

More Workshop Fun At Joan's Gardens

This is the explosion box we created at the Saturday workshop hosted by Joan Fricker (atjoansgardens.com) A gorgeous teacup is the surprise when the box lid is lifted. My cup is a little wonky because I didn't adhere the inside flaps at an angle. But the good news is I purchased the teacup die so I can make more cups correctly! The flowers were punched from vellum using the martha stewart hydrangea punches and a little sun punch bunch punchout for the center.

Workshop Fun At Joan's Gardens

This is one of the projects made on Saturday at a workshop hosted by Joan Fricker (atjoansgardens.com) and her friend Selma (Selma lives in Washington state and was "with us" via Skype!) The flowers were created using "punch bunch" punches. The leaves were created using a sizzix die. Patterned paper is by Graphic 45.
We also made an explosion box; I'll upload a picture tomorrow that will show the box and the gorgeous surprise inside of it. :)

Friendship Quilt

Another card created for a PTI card swap on SCS. I used PTI cardstock for cardbase and layer. The quilt squares are punched using a 3/4 inch square punch from the PTI 6x6 patterned paper pack called Pink Patterns; it is layered on textured Bazzill pear cardstock. The cardbase layer and quilted panel are embossed with a PTI texture plate. Sentiment is from the PTI set In Bloom and the button is from my stash.

PTI Blog Hop

This is my first time to participate in the PTI Blog Hop. This month's hop is dedicated to scallops, any kind of scallops, along with a PTI stamped image/product. I used clear cardstock to create the stamped front of the card using PTI In Bloom and Butterfly Dreams. The scalloped doily circle is a MS doily. The small butterflies are punched from a MS butterfly punch. Gems are SU; inside cardstock is Bazzill Textured Pear and corners are punches with a MS corner punch. Ink used on the clear cardfront is stazon white; the sentiment is stamped using SU Basic Gray.

CAS Larger Than Life

This is a CAS card I created for a PTI card swap! The cardstock used is SU Whisper White; PTI stamps used are Larger Than Life, Basic Backgrounds: Woodgrain; and Handwritten Notes. I can't seem to stay away from butterflies lately, so used Martha butterfly punches as the embellishments on the card. This is a no layer card...only a cardbase! The LTL floral stem was inked with a Kaleidacolor inkpad called Autumn Leaves. I've had this inkpad for a long, long time and this is the first time used! The woodgrain was stamped using SU Sahara Sand ink. Sentiment was stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black. Butterflies were punched from white cardstock then punched again from yellow vellum and layered on the white to give a little depth to the no layer card.

Black With A Splash

My Black with a Splash of color created for a color swap hosted by blusky on SCS. I found the gorgeous flowers at the "M" store on sale and couldn't resist them. They fit perfectly in my black with a splash schematics. I used an embossing folder from the Once Upon a Princess folder package.

Tilda with Sunflower

I've been particpating in some card kit swaps, one of which is a Magnolia card kit. This is the card I created using the kit I submitted to the swap. The image was colored with Prisma Colored Pencils and gamsol. The more mustard/cherry cobbler flower embellishment was handmade by altering a die cut flower from the Blossom Party Sizzix die and the SU Boho Blossom punch. A Kaiserkraft gem is adhered to the flower center. The ladybug in the corner is a button with the shank removed as is the center of the sunflower that Tilda is holding. The leaves were created using a circle punch. The double sided patterned paper is Harvest Row by Heidi Grace Designs.
