Mark's Finest Papers & Stamps Oriental Sketch Challenge #3

Welcome to Mark's Finest Papers and Stamps Oriental Sketch Challenge #3.  The challenge uses this sketch:

For my card, I used the MFP Dragonflies stamp set.  Lifestyle Crafts Woven Embossing Folder was used for the background; one of the panels was embossed with an Oriental embossing folder.  To give the dragonflies "flight" I stamped two dragonflies on vellum and cut the wings out, colored them using Copic markers and paper pieced them over the stamped dragonfly images.  Memento Black ink was used for stamping the images and sentiment.  Cardstock used is vanilla, black, and River Rock.  River Rock ink was also used to ink the Oriental image and edges of the layered panels.

We hope you will play along with us!  The Oriental Sketch challenge can be found here.

Simple Salutations Challenge #63 Autumn Leaves

This week's Simple Salutations challenge at Mark's Finest Papers and Stamps is Autumn Leaves, etc.  Fall is my favorite season; love the colors and crisp, cool breeze that goes along with the beauty of autumn.

My Autumn card image and sentiment are from MFP Autumn Friendships stamp set.  I stamped the leaf image onto vanilla cardstock and cut it out and mounted it onto a fall leaves embossed cardstock panel.  Very CAS card; I also gave the card a good spray of glimmer mist!

Twisted Tuesday Challenge Splatter & Chatter!

This week's Twisted Tuesday Challenge is Splatter & Chatter!  Paint it, Spritz it, Mist it, whatever you would like, but show some splatter on your creation!  The TWIST is to also use at least two words on your project.

For my project, as the base, I used a blackboard easel I found in the Michaels dollar spot a few weeks ago.   Stamps used - images from Paper Smooches I Heart Art stamp set

Watercolor paper and inktense pencils were used to create a "wash" as the sentiment background.  I stamped the images onto watercolor paper and colored the paint tube image with inktense pencils and water brush.  The splatter images were stamped using Distress Inks.

I used the Paper Smooches Paint Palette die to embellish the side of the easel.  More splatter was stamped directly onto the easel frame.  A FUN project!

We hope you'll play along with our Splatter & Chatter challenge; you can find the challenge here.

Altered Eclectics September Challenge

This is my DT project for the September Altered Eclectics Challenge.  It's an altered Altoid Tin made into a diorama.  The theme of my tin is Every Garden Has a Story!  The lid of the tin is the base covered in flower soft; miniature dollhouse benches were used as the display feet and other miniatures were used to carryout the theme.

You can find the Altered Eclectics Challenge here.  The AE challenges are anything goes (except no scrapbook pages, cards, or tags!)
