Hello Xylophone!

I created this card for the Alpha challenge  to use the letter X over at Splitcoast Stampers, but a gallery glitch is preventing uploads from showing up in the traditional way of uploading!  So this is a test of trying to upload from my Blog to my SCS gallery!  It might work and it might not; regardless, I really like this cute digi image I found when I searched for a Xylophone digi image!

Dies R Us Challenge #67 - Think Spring!

This is my first time to enter the Dies R Us challenges!  I really love using dies on my cards and projects.

The Dies R Us challenge theme is Think Spring.  For my card I used PoppyStamps Weeping Willow Tree die, CheeryLynn Exotic Butterfly Small die, and Impression Obsession grass die (actually, I think it is the IO sea grass die, but it is grass nonetheless, and it looks like it needs to have a lawnmower taken to it!  LOL)

I created the background by sponging distress inks onto the white cardbase before adhering the Willow tree die cut.  I used Chameleon pens to give the tree leaves a little color.

The Sisterhood of Crafters Challenge - Winter Blues? Let's Take a Vacation!

It's my turn to host the challenge over at The Sisterhood of Crafters.

I chose the theme ... Winter Blues?  Let's Take a Vacation!  Our next stop is anything destination or travel related!

For my card, my destination is the beach!  I used the beach image from the CTMH Perfect Day stamp set.  I first created the background by using distress inks and dabbing the colors onto an acrylic block then spritzing with water before stamping it down onto my watercolor paper.  Let it dry and then stamped the image and colored the image using Chameleon pens.  The die cuts are from Lil Inker Stitched rectangle dies.

We hope you'll share your vacation destination or travel related creations with us at The Sisterhood of Crafters Challenge.  You can find the challenge HERE.

The Sisterhood of Crafters Challenge - Use Red On Your Project!

We are using this mood board for inspiration:

For my card, I used red gingham ribbon to embellish my card.  I used Aqua Markers to color directly on the stamp, spritzed with water and then stamped it onto watercolor paper.  Used a heat tool help the image dry before stamping the sentiment using black archival ink.  Added a few small pearls to finish.

Flourishes l.c. - Thinking of You!

It’s my week to host the Friends of Flourishes Challenge.  I challenged the design team to create a “thinking of you” card.  There are so many ways to let someone know you are thinking of them when creating a special card for a special person in your life.  I know you’ll love the inspiration the design team has to share!

For my card I used an image from the Winter Birds digi stamp set.  I printed the image on Flourishes white cardstock, cut the image to size 2 ¾ inch square then added a piece of foil transfer paper to it and ran it through my heat laminator to give it some gold highlights!  The sentiment is from the Flourishes Small Sentiments stamp set that is part of the January release.  I stamped the image using Memento Tuxedo Black ink.  I colored the gold foiled image using pastel chalks and Chameleon Pens.  The finished card size is 4 inches square.

Let’s take a look at what the Friends of Flourishes Design Team members created by visiting their blogs and be sure to leave a comment while you are there!

Frantic Stamper, Inc., New February Release - Feminine Style

I'm excited to announce that I'm a guest designer for Frantic Stamper, Inc. !!

For my card, I used the Heart Rose die (FRA-DIE-10121) from the new February Feminine Style Frantic Stamper, Inc., die and stamp release.

I used the inlaid die technique for my card.  I first die cut the Heart Rose die with white cardstock, then again from a watercolor wash background I created using Prima Pastel Dreams Watercolor Confections and watercolor paper.  I then inlaid the watercolored die cut pieces into the white heart die cut.

Be sure to watch the February release Youtube video showing all the fabulous design team Feminine Style projects found HERE.
