Happy Birthday!

Card created for PTI swap hosted by LauraJean on SCS.  This is for the general card spot.  Since November is my birthday month, I went with creating a birthday card!  PTI supplies used:  banner die for party hat, button die for red button, notched flower die for felt topper on hat, polka dot impression plate for red background, Simple Little Things limited edition stamp set for sentiment.  Paper, ribbon, and cardstock from stash.

Teacup Pin Cushion

This is a project I created to share with a virtual tea party group on SCS.  I LOVE creating stick pins and needed a place to display them!  Found the teacup at a local antique store and altered it somewhat with lace, small prima flowers, a styrofoam ball covered with pink satin and a lace overlay.

Life's Lessons from My Cat

I'm part of an Alphabet Challenge on Splitcoaststampers.  The letter this week is the letter C.  I was given a dare by DellsDani to create a card on a card!  The image is a digital image pre-colored from winkwinkink called Kitty Temptation.  Unfortunately, it is the last of the images I have as my "old" computer lost all its files and this digi was among those deleted and unable to be retrieved, and to top it off, winkwinkink is no longer in business.  Back to the card on a card dare...cardbase card has a smaller card mounted on it with the image and some "lessons from my cat" listed on the inside.  Here are those lessons (oh, and because I was put in the naughty corner for stealing Marion's donut, I made the lessons are only a little naughty in my book!)!

A cat always hits the litterbox.

You have a better chance of training a cat.

If you ask enough times, a cat may actually LISTEN to you.

You can de-claw a cat... try to get a guy to clip his toenails.

It's okay if a cat rubs up against your best friend.

A cat matures as it grows older.

Back hair on cats is cute.

It is legal in all states to neuter a cat.

Cats comfort you when you are sick.

When a cat sleeps all day it's natural, not annoying.

Unlike a man, a cat can fend for itself.

A cat is loyal.

"Meow" is never a lie.

They'll both stand outside your door and whine, but the cat will stop when it gets in.

A cat's friend is less likely to be annoying.

Cats are always cute.

The only thing a cat expects you to "put out" is food, water, and a clean litter box.

PTI Cards for Recent Swap

Cards created for PTI swap on SCS hosted by taclary (Tracie).   The butterfly card uses the negative die cutouts with basic gray paper behind both cutouts.  OOPS!  Forgot the photograph the pocket card insert.  The bookmark images were colored using ink and blender pen.  The icecream cone card is 4  1/4" square card; used the scallop edge die for bottom.

Back to School

Back to school with Graphic 45!  I created this card for the alpha challenge a couple weeks ago using the letter A!  Then I gave Lynn a dare that she accepted; so, back to school was mailed to Lynn in Canada.

Alphabet Challenge

I'm part of a challenge group to create a card each week using a selected alphabet letter that another member of the group selects each Wednesday.  The letter this week was the letter L.  I found this cute ladybug stamp from DRS Designs at a stamp show this past March and couldn't resist getting it!  The oval dies are from Lifestyle Crafts Lace Ovals.

Pin Cushion

Created my first ever pin cushion!  I "studied" several different YouTube videos on how to make a pin cushion and combined the details of what I thought I could do to create one!  The frame is from the Michaels dollar spot.  I removed the back of the frame, took a square of fabric, stuffed it with fiberfill, then hand-basted around the outer edge of the fabric, put a 2 inch square of cardstock inside the fabric over the fill before I pulled it closed.  Then hot glued the backside of the fiber-filled fabric to a piece of cardstock then ran a bead of hotglue around the opening of the frame, stuffed the filled-fabric into it, hotglued the cardstock to the back of the frame then used my adhesive gun to adhere the frame stand I had removed from the opening originally.  Whew!  It took me several tries to get it they way I wanted it, but am pleased with the result.  Now, to make 4 more for a tagged textiles swap hosted by stampingooddeeds on SCS!

Delicate Pink Butterfly

Love the laser cut cards that SU offered this past spring so decided to use it as the base for the pink/frilly PTI card swap category.  The butterfly and sentiment are from the PTI set Beautiful Butterflies.

On The Farm

This is a tag for a birthday gift!  Created for PTI swap using On The Farm stamp set.  The cloud was die cut from felt using the PTI cloud die.  Flat bottlecap holds a 100% country sentiment.  Fun set!

Y is for Yellow!

Card created for an ABC swap on SCS.  Y is for Yellow!  I seldom use the color yellow when I create a card, so this was a good challenge for me to create out of my comfort zone!

PTI Delightful Doily Flower

I "spruced" up a card I created in February by adding a burgandy flower made using the small die from the PTI Delightful Doilies die set. I die cut 4 of the small doilies, run each diecut through my crimper to breakdown the cardstock fibers. I then pulled each diecut apart making the 4 shapes into 8 shapes. This gives the cardstock a soft texture. The 8 shapes were layered, used paper piercer to poke a hole in center of the layers and inserted a small brad. The layers were then scrunched up around the brad and then pulled out to create the flower shape; an adhesive backed pearl was added to center of flower.

The flower was created to submit to the PTI Make It Monday project challenge to create a flower using a non floral die.

Fun In The Sun

I fell in love with this stamp (and purchased it!) when I saw it at the 100proofpress booth when I attended the stamp show last month. I created this card for Sam's At The Beach swap. The buttons are from my stash and the "sun" was punched from the SU 3 way blossom punch.

Cards with a Splash of Color

Cards created for a splash of color swap hosted by blusky on splitcoast. The top card is black with a splash, next is green with any color, then pink with any color, then white on white, and last card is yellow with any color. I think my favorite is the white on white 'cause I love the cheery lynn butterfly die.

Black Lace Flower

Stamped panel is brayered; some images are stickled with black stickles; flower was created with black lace from my stash but it's just a bit BIG for the card! The center of the flower is a brad from PaperStudio. Bottom of card was punched with a Martha Stewart larger border punch.

More Fabric Flowers

Flowers created for a wonderful blooms swap on SCS. Both flowers were created using buckram material, die cut using Tim Holtz Tattered Floral and Tattered Leaves dies. After diecutting, I hand-dyed the shapes using SU reinker for the flowers and Forest Moss Distress Stain for the leaves that are attached to the yellow flower. I used fabri-tac glue to adhere each diecut to shape the flowers (5 diecut layers stacked per flower).

Groovy Blast from the Past

I created this card using a retired Stampin Up set called Groovy for a swap way back in April 2011 and am just now uploading it! I'm ready for some flower power instead of seeing the ground covered with snow. I *think* the patterned paper is from a DCWV paper pack. The card is one of my favorite folds...Z fold.

Pink, Lace, and Prima

Card created for a themed monthly swap. Pink is my favorite color and I love creating beaded stick pins. :) The embossed background was created using a Paper Studio emobssing folder from Hobby Lobby.

The Cat's Pajamas Spring Fling

I recently joined a The Cat's Pajama's ATC swap; but, I had no TCP stamps! So, as the story goes I couldn't stop at just one and now have 4 or 5 of these adorable stamps to play with. So, for the ATC swap I used Spring Fling stamp set to create a Z-fold ATC. There is lots of sparkle on my ATC but the camera just won't pick it up! I colored the flowers with Copic Spicka glitter markers; hat colored with Shin-Han Touch Twin markers.

Fabric Flowers and Notepad

This is another swap project on SCS! The swap theme is to create items that you would send as a thank you to a swap hostess.

The flowers on the notepad are from Creative Memories. The notepad instructions can be found in the resource section on splitcoast.

The fabric flowers are made from denim (old blue jeans actually!). The round flowers were cut using the SU circle die; the bookmark flower was cut from the Tim Holtz Tattered flower die.

This was a fun project; hope the swappers like them.

Happy New Year!

Wishing everyone a very Happy and Prosperous 2012! This tag was part of a project I created in 2009 for a swap. Yep, it was posted on my blog in 2009, but thought it would be appropriate to post it again today. :)
