Cuttin' and Stampin' 2014 Design Team Blog Hop

Blog Hop Blinkie

Can you believe Cuttin' and Stampin' Challenge Blog has been going for over a year now? It has gone by so fast and we have had so much fun creating and sharing projects with you.  Starting the first of the year we decided to make a few changes.  These changes include bringing you different types of projects, and to do that we needed to increase the number of members on the team.  We also decided to create two teams, Green Team and Orange Team.

Today we are introducing the Green Team.  The Orange Team will be featured tomorrow, February 1.

Be sure to stop by each of the team members and welcome them to our 2014 Design Team.  We will have a drawing for each day of the hop.  Just leave a comment below and at each stop along the way.  We will announce blog winners next Friday along with our regular weekly winners.

You should have arrived here from Janet's blog.

I'm a very eclectic paper crafter and have lots of fun creating projects and cards using many different styles, depending on the project.  Here's my card that showcases my CAS style:

I used a stamp, die, and sentiment from the Paper Smooches Swanky Snowdudes stamp set and matching die set.  The background was embossed and splattered with Copic White ink.  Edges of the card were sponged with SU white ink.  The snow mounds were die cut from a PTI die and then the edges sponged using Bordering Blue ink.  The metal snowflake is by PaperStudio.

Your next stop on the hope is Doris.

Meet the GREEN TEAM:

Michele Kosciolek
Jenni
Teresa
Lisa
Jamie
Debbie
Janet
Vickie  (you are here!)

Be sure to hop back to Cuttin' and Stampin' Blog and leave a comment there, too!

We hope you'll play along with this week's challenge.  You can find the challenge HERE.

Cuttin' and Stampin' Pink, Peach, and Gray Challenge

January 28 - February 3, 2014

Weekly Challenge - Color Combination
Pink, Orange and Grey

A while back Teresa Collins introduced her You are My Happy line.  The design team went crazy over it.  We decided that it could be used in SO many wonderful ways that we couldn't put just one theme to it.  The challenge for you is to use the colors in the line to create a project.

This was a FUN paper line to work with!  Love these colors together.

We hope you'll play along with the color challenge this week.

You can link your project HERE for your chance to win.

Sketch With a Twist Challenge #83 Butterfly Theme

This week's SWAT Challenge uses the following sketch and the twist is to make it a butterfly theme!  I'm ready to see some butterflies instead of snow flying!

Here's the sketch:

For my card, I used the butterfly and sentiment from the MFP Garden Art stamp set.  The background is a Darice embossing folder and a MS border punch.

We hope you'll play along with this week's SWAT Challenge for a chance to win the Spring Flowers stamp.  You can play along with the challenge HERE.

MFP Simple Salutations Challenge - Craete a CAS Birthday Card

This week's Simple Salutations Challenge at Mark's Finest Papers SpeedyTV is to create a CAS birthday card.  The Simple Salutations Challenges are always CAS and require a sentiment to be placed on the card front!

My card has no layers, only the card base.  I used Crumb Cake cardstock and stamped an image and sentiment from the Island Life stamp set; I colored it with Copics and then sponged blue ink over the top of the card to create a horizon.

We hope you'll play along with the Simple Salutations Birthday card challenge this week.  You can find the challenge HERE.

Cuttin' and Stampin' Weekly Challenge - Anything Goes with Arrows!

January 21 - 27, 2014

Weekly Challenge - Anything Goes with Arrows

As a design team, we have seen SO many wonderful paper lines and projects created using arrows.  We decided we wanted to play with arrows too.  The design team is using the Crate Paper Love Note paper line and the Love Struck Paper Smooches stamp set.

We hope you enjoy this challenge as much as we have.  You have until January 27 to enter your projects HERE.

Twisted Tuesdays is Give Me a T.A.P.E. Challenge!

The Twisted Tuesdays Challenge is to use washi tape or fabric tape....some kind of tape on your creation.
THE TWIST: Use something that begins with "T", "A", "P" or "E" on your creation. (examples: T = teal, twine, thread / A = acetate, apple, aqua / P = pearls, paint, pink / E = embossing, echo park paper)

For my card, I used the SU Gorgeous Grunge stamp set and stamped the grunge dots in gray and pink.  The sentiment is from the Mark's Finest Papers Hello Butterflies set. I then used one of my own card sketches found here for the card layout inspiration, by joining the washi tape horizontally and vertically and then putting a punched image over the joined area!  I received the die cut label from a friend last week (thanks Colleen!); she used the SU Chalk Talk dies to create the label.  I had to embellish using pearls and a Prima flourish bling, 'cause I love bling!  The butterfly is a Martha Stewart punch; I used Teresa Collins Fabrications pattern paper to punch out the butterfly.  I used T for tape and Teresa Collins Paper, and P for pearls, pink, and polka dots!

We hope you'll play along with the Twisted Tuesdays Challenge.  You can find the challenge HERE.

We hope you'll play along with this week's SWAT Challenge #82 to use Pink, Black, and White on your card!  If you play along you'll be eligible to win a beautiful Covered Bridge stamp from Mark's Finest Papers, a Heinrich Co.

Crafting When We Can Challenge

We are working with a recipe theme over at Crafting When We Can Challenge Blog!  Here's the "recipe:"  use 1 image, 2 ribbons or twine, 3 main colors.  For my card I used the Strawberry Shortcake digital image from our sponsor, Sassy Studio Designs.  I used dotted grosgrain ribbon and also layered 2 different kinds of lace just below the ribbon, and added twine to the die cut strawberry and button embellishment; the main colors I used are bubblegum from Bazzill Basics Cardstock, Melon Mambo from SU, and a mixture of pink, green, and white patterned paper from a DCWV paper pack.  The image was colored with Copic markers.

We hope you'll play along with the Crafting When We Can recipe theme; you can find the challenge HERE.

I used the fan images from the set along with one of the sentiments.  I used distress ink to stamp the fans and colored the flowers using Promarkers.  I then fussy cut the images and layered the smaller fan onto the larger fan.  I used the Sunburst Using Designer Paper tutorial created by Lois Bak which can found HERE in the tutorials on  SpeedyTV  I used some scraps from my scrap bin to create the sunburst background.

Be sure to follow along with the blog hop for a chance to win one of the new release stamp sets!  You can begin the blog hop  HERE.

Simple Salutations Challenge - Create a New Baby Card

This week's Simple Salutations Challenge is to create a New Baby Card.  My card could be used to "welcome home" a new baby to the family!  For my card I used the sentiment stamp from Light My Way Home stamp set and the elephant from the Be Wild & Free stamp set.  The embossing folder is part of the Baby Set from Sizzix.  The buttons are LaMode Vintage buttons and the ric-rac is American Craft.

Cuttin' and Stampin' Winter Wonderland Challenge

January 14 - 20, 2014

Cuttin' and Stampin'
Weekly Challenge - Anything Goes with Winter

It seems like most of the country is covered in snow right now, so we are having a challenge creating things about winter.  The design team has been working with the Bo Bunny Winter Wonderland collection.

For my card, I used the Paper Smooches Fresh Snow stamp set using the snowflake stamps to stamp onto the pattern paper using a soft blue ink and the sentiment is stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black ink.  A chipboard button from the Winter Wonderland collection is mounted onto a snowflake die cut just above the sentiment.  The pattern paper was die cut using Spellbinders Circle and Scallop Nestabilities.  I cut a portion of the circle off before mounting them onto the card.  The Owl in the background is part of the Winter Wonderland collection.

Now's your chance to create something about winter and enter it in this week's challenge.  You can enter your creation Here.

MFPaHC January Release Blog Hop Continues

Today at Mark's Finest Papers Blog Hop we are featuring the Swans stamp set.

I used this beautiful stamp set to create a shaped easel card using the Blossoms Spellbinders die.  I used distress inks to brayer the background over a half circle mask to create a rising moon.  I then stamped the smaller solid image of the swan, stamped the sentiment, and added some stickles to the floating ripples under the swan.

We hope you will follow along with the blog hop for a chance to win one of the January new release sets!  You can find the blog hop HERE.

Mark's Finest Papers Sketch With a Twist Challenge #81

This week's Sketch With a Twist Challenge #81 at Mark's Finest Papers SpeedyTV uses this sketch:

The twist is to use a die cut or punch on your card.  The star in the sketch is just a placement marker; you don't have to use a star on your card, put you do need to place something on your card in that area!

For my card, I used black and gray cardstock; I used swiss dots embossing folder on the gray panel, then cut two strips of designer paper from my scrap bin and layered as detailed in the sketch.  I stamped the swan from the newly released Swans stamp set and die cut it out using the Blossoms 3 spellbinders die.  The flourish gem is from Me & My Big Ideas.

We hope you'll play along with this week's SWAT Challenge #81!  You can find the challenge HERE.

So Excited to be January and February Guest Designer at House Mouse and Friends Monday Challenge!

I was so surprised when I received an email from Christine at House Mouse and Friends asking if I would be interested in participating as a Guest Designer in January and February!  What a fabulous beginning to the New Year!

Here is my card for Challenge #161 to "Use a House Mouse, Happy Hopper, or Gruffie stamp you haven't used before."  This little cutie has been sitting in my craft room for quite sometime so it's the perfect selection for this challenge!  The stamp is called Make a Wish 02 featuring Amanda and Monica!

I used lots of embellishments that were strewn all over my craft table so I just started picking them up and placing them here and there on my Easel card.   The flower is from Martha Stewart, the party hats are from K&Co., the leaf is from Recollections, the twine is American Crafts, the ric-rac is also American Crafts.  The Doily is Wilton, the tag and lattice die cut are David Turtera, the sentiment is from a MFPaHC stamp set called Garden Art, and the Flourish is from Prima!  Cardstock and DP from my scrap bin!  The image was colored using Copic Markers.

You can find the House Mouse and Friends Monday Challenge #161 HERE.

Simple Salutations Challenge - Use Black and White

The Simple Salutations Challenge this week is to create a black and white card.  For my CAS card I used the Huge Blooms set.  I first layered the smaller white panel on the card base and stamped the images.  Then, removed the smaller panel, adhered it to a black cardstock panel that is 1/8" larger than the white stamped panel.  I then lined up the stamped images and adhered the layered panel to the card base.

We hope you will play along with the Simple Salutations Challenge this week.  You can find the challenge HERE.
